HVAC Inc., a Laval-based company specializing in building mechanical systems, and continuously expanding after more than four decades of experience and innovation, is currently seeking a Human Resources and Payroll Manager.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the Human Resources and Payroll Manager will be responsible for:
Human Resources
- Participate in the implementation and application of human resources practices and labour relations within the organization;
- Take charge of the coordination and follow-up of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) committee, including planning meetings and implementing action items;
- Monitor files related to CNESST and occupational health and safety, and propose appropriate solutions to various situations;
- Advise managers and employees on matters related to working conditions, internal policies, collective agreements, and employee benefits;
- Interpret and apply laws, regulations, and principles of labour law in daily activities, particularly in managing labour relations and conflict situations;
- Coordinate performance evaluations and contribute to employee development and training initiatives;
- Participate in recruitment processes, support managers in hiring decisions, and coordinate onboarding of new employees;
- Develop and update job descriptions as well as certain elements related to salary structure;
- Maintain a positive work environment and act as a resource person for employees;
- Provide support to HR activities and participate in the training of HR assistants;
- Participate in organizing internal activities that promote employee engagement and mobilization;
- Maintain and ensure the proper management of employee records and HR information systems.
Payroll and Compliance
- Manage the full payroll cycle for approximately 140 employees across multiple entities;
- Prepare T4 slips and Relevé 1 forms, including tax considerations related to employee benefits;
- Ensure the accuracy of payroll data, benefits, and source deductions;
- Process government remittances, including those specific to the construction sector (CCQ) and the province of New Brunswick;
- Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) and other required documentation.
Engagement and Internal Initiatives (CSR)
- Maintain communication with the main French shareholder by preparing CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) reports;
- Participate in the selection and management of the company’s philanthropic initiatives in line with its social objectives;
- Support initiatives that promote an inclusive and respectful workplace;
- Contribute to the implementation of internal activities and best practices related to employee engagement;
- Raise awareness among employees regarding environmentally responsible workplace practices.
Qualifications
- University degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Law, or a related field;
- 1 to 2 years of experience in human resources;
- Experience in litigation and management of CNESST-related files;
- Experience with payroll and CCQ collective agreements;
- Experience with Constructeur software is a strong asset;
- Experience with unionized plant payroll and New Brunswick payroll is an asset;
- English.
Benefits
- Hourly rate: $34.87 – $35.90 ($68,000 – $70,000 annually)
- Work schedule: 37.5 hours per week
